The Homestead Gingham collection from Lady McElroy is a beautiful range of 100% linen checks that feels every bit as good as it looks. Yarn-dyed and laundered for exceptional softness, these fabrics have a wonderfully relaxed handle and that distinctive natural texture that makes linen such a joy to wear.
Unlike standard linens, the Homestead Gingham collection has been pre-washed using a stone-laundering process, which softens the fibres and gives the fabric a gently lived-in feel from the very first wear. The result is a linen with lovely drape, a soft hand and a relaxed appearance that only gets better with time and washing.
Featuring a classic gingham check measuring approximately 6mm squares, these linens strike the perfect balance between timeless and contemporary. Lightweight and breathable at 175gsm, they’re ideal for warm-weather dressing, keeping you cool and comfortable throughout the summer months.
Perfect for tops, shirts, skirts, dresses and relaxed trousers. We particularly love the idea of a co-ordinated set with barrel-leg trousers and a simple boxy top, but it would be equally at home sewn into a loose-fitting dress or an oversized shirt.

Washing Instructions: As we can’t test wash all of our fabrics we recommend cutting a small square and testing your washing conditions. If you measure your fabric before and after washing you will be able to determine whether any shrinkage has taken place. Likely washing conditions for this fabric is 30°C. We also recommend washing with a colour catcher in the fabrics first wash.
Our fabrics are sold by the quarter meter. If you wish to order 1/4 meter, enter .25 in the quantity box; to order 1/2 metre, enter .50 in the quantity box, and so on.
